JAMIAT KZN FATWA AGAINST INTERFAITH
JAMIAT KZN FATWA AGAINST INTERFAITH

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
Respected Brother/Sister in Islam

The principle in the relationship between Muslims and non-Muslims is coexistence. Muslims living in non-Muslim countries have to engage in their communities while observing their Islamic identity. It is not permissible for Muslims to join non-Muslims in anything that violates the fundamentals of Islamic law. Rather, it is permissible for Muslims to speak kindly and participate with non-Muslims in a manner that does not contradict the commands of Allah and His Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wa sallam).
The Inter-Faith ideology based on the premise that all religions are equally legitimate and no religion possesses absolute truth is against the beliefs and teachings of Islam.

The eternal salvation of every person depends upon submitting to the religion of Islam according to the Shariah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalaam.
Allah Taala says in the Quran, 'Verily (the accepted) religion in the sight
of Allah is Islam'. (3:19)

In another verse, He says, 'And whosoever follows (a religion) besides Islam, it will not be accepted'. (3:85)
As Muslims we should continue displaying good character towards non-Muslims and should embrace the opportunity to explain the beauty of Islam to them with wisdom whenever possible making all possible efforts to give them Dawah towards the Deen of Islam.

May Allah Ta'ala guide us all and keep us upon the straight path and may He use us as a means of guiding others. Aameen.
And Allah Knows Best.

Wassalaam.
