MUSJID CLOSURE BY LAW. A STATEMENT BY QALAMUL HAQ
WHILE WE WAIT ON STATEMENTS FROM OUR AKAABIREEN, WE HAVE BEEN ASKED FROM MANY TO ISSUE A STATEMENT ON CLOSING OF THE MUSAAJID. WHILE WE ARE TRYING TO CLARIFY THE MATTER WITH THE LEGAL FRATERNITY AND WAITING ON OUR SENIORS TO GIVE US GUIDANCE, WE ISSUE THE FOLLOWING ADVICE AND WARNING-TO OURSELVES AND OTHERS.
Results of The Danger of the Comfort Zone We Fell Into
2020 was very unusual as we all know.
Due to lockdown regulations most people were generally confined to their homes.
A much greater tragedy was that most people had no access to the masjid. Some made Jumu‘ah Salaah in small groups here and there while most tragically, thousands missed their Jumu‘ah Salaah altogether.
Innaa lillahi wa innaa ilaihi raaji‘oon!
Fast forward to June/July 2021.
While those who could not and cannot make it to the masjid due to the lockdown regulations will not be taken to account for this, however this situation gradually created a “comfort zone” for many in 2020/21.
Shaitaan indeed pushed many of us back into a “comfort zone” in order to deprive us and break our link to the House of Allah Ta‘ala.
Likewise, those who were forced by circumstances to make their salaah at home, felt “comfortable” and “relaxed” in doing so. It should have been done with a very heavy heart and a deep sense of loss due to not being able to go to the house of Allah Ta‘ala.
Alhamdulillah, then the masaajid were opened again. May Allah Ta‘ala never deprive us of His house due to our sins and may this be the cause of us opening our eyes and waking up from our sleep and slumber.
We became lax and did not learn the lesson!
We still did not fill the Musaajid!
Now Allah Ta’Aala who is in control of everything, has used the Kufaar government to make it a crime to go to Musjid according to their Lockdown laws.
We are crying now. But did we use the door that was opened for us to show our love and eagerness to return to the Musjid and fill the houses of Allaah Ta’Aala when He gave us the oppurtunity?
Let us make Taubah and ask Allah Ta'Aala from the bottom of our hearts. Let us pledge to Allaah Ta'Aala that we will try our level best to visit his house regularly should He open it up again!
Make abundant Istighfaar, Tawbah and let us turn back to Allah Ta'Aala and the Sunnah way of life. Make Salaat in Jamaat in our homes and where possible. Let us throw the ways and sunnah of the Kufaar out the windows and change our lives to come back on Sunnah of Nabi Alayhis Salaatu Was Salaam and His Sahaaba.
If we do not, then let us be very afraid that Allaah Ta'Aala will close His houses to us and deny us the ability to practice Deen due to our own Ghaflat (negligence and foolishness and laziness and pride)
