People these days have become very defensive when haq is spoken openly and more so when the ulama refer to certain people as faasiq, shaytaan, zindeeq etc. What we wish to get across in this brief article is the fact that the majority of people who object have little Islamic knowledge, and a few other points.

1. The majority of people who object to these terms use worse terms, profanity and outright vulgarity to describe the ulama or lay person that used the term faasiq or shaytaan. The frightening part in all of this is that no one takes the one RESPONDING with vulgarity to task.
2. People talk about the idea that ulama or any person describing an evil action or a person who has done wrong must do so with kind words and humility. But it appears that this rule does not seem to apply to those that RESPOND with profanity. Further, this shows lack of understanding and knowledge of the beautiful way of life of Nabi Alayhis salaam.
(He who imparts Ilm to one who is unfit for it, is like one who garlands SWINE with diamonds, pearls and gold).
When a person came into the presents of Nabi Alayhis salaam with untidy hair, Nabi Alayhis salaam said (some of you come to us like a SHAYTAAN).
(He who remains silent regarding haq is a DUMB SHAYTAAN).

In another incident Nabi Alayhis salaam told someone to his face (you are a SHAYTAAN).
The above are Hadith. Those not aware of these hadith do not have enough Islamic knowledge to debate in the first place. We urge readers to ask ulama regarding these ahaadith.
3. Are people aware that Nabi Alayhis salaam complimented a sahaba who killed his wife because she insulted Nabi Alayhis salaam? Are people aware that Nabi Alayhis salaam advised a woman to slap her husband for retaliation (this rule was later prohibited by ALLAH)? Are people aware that Nabi Alayhis salaam called people shaytaan? Are people aware that on the occasion of the conquest of Mecca Nabi Alayhis salaam ordered a few people to be executed and although one of them held on to the cloth of the Kaaba and BEGGED for mercy, the person was executed none the less? These episodes are a few incidents of ta’ neef (severity and harshness).
People are always pointing out rifq (advice with tenderness) of Nabi Alayhis salaam but ignore the ta’ neef of Nabi Alayhis salaam. People point out that Nabi Alayhis salaam is described as, and indeed he is, a “mercy to mankind”, but ignore the commands of ALLAH to Nabi Alayhis salaam “kill them were ever they are found” and “be STERN against them”, which he fulfilled.
4. One of the vilest crimes that can be committed is to kill someone. But certain laws of ALLAH require that a person MUST be killed. We are not allowed to harm people either in word or action, but sharia either allows or commands that a person must be harmed under different circumstances. There is a time and place for everything including tenderness and harshness in speech.
5. Another common error is that people look at the faults of the person giving a stern message, and not the message itself. This is quite frankly a sign of lack of intelligence. If an adulterer were to scream at someone he catches stealing and informs the public about the theft, would we focus on his adultery or will we focus on the theft being committed? Yes, we can take up the issue of adultery with him, but not together with the theft. These are two separate crimes by two separate people. Same rule applies when someone points out the sin of someone else. The crime must be looked at, and not the person pointing out the crime! If the person pointing out the crime needs to be corrected, it must be done as a separate issue, even if it is done severely and in public. Justifying a crime by pointing out the warner’s flaws in plain foolishness and stupidity.
Whether faults should be pointed out in public or private is another subject and will follow soon Insha’Allah.
Keeping the above in mind the none bias reader will conclude that the above is correct.
