FATWA ON GULENIST BELIEFS
Question:
1. What is the status of the person who subscribes to the beliefs as detailed in the book, FETÖ BY HIS OWN LANGUAGE AN ORGANISED EXPLOITATION OF RELIGION ?
2. Would it be permitted to perform Salaah behind a person who subscribes to these beliefs as detailed in the book?
3. Would it be permitted to perform Salaah at a centre or Masjid built by those who subscribe to the beliefs detailed in the book?
Answer:
We have glanced through this book and found that there are many beliefs that are alien and foreign to Islam and its teachings. In fact the beliefs are very dangerous like believing Muhammed to be the father of I’sa Alaihis Salaam; believing that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is the Holy spirit; claiming that he sees Almighty Allah Ta'aala; claiming that the pulpit from where he gives speeches that Allah Ta'aala is in that pulpit; believing that Allah Ta'aala is inside the Kaaba; believing that a dead person can come to life and live a normal life; claiming to have finer details and private information about the Arsh and Kursi which no one else knows; claiming that he knows ilm ul ghaib; to be happy with disbelievers and the actions of disbelievers etc. are such that will render one Kafir.i
Besides this, Salaah behind such a person who has such beliefs that will render one Kafir will not be valid.ii Therefore, we must abstain from reading salaah behind such a person. Performing Salaah in their masjid is impermissible.iii
