Anas Bin Malik [رضى الله عنه] narrates that the Messenger of Allah [صلى الله عليه وسلم] said: “I wish that I could meet my brothers.” The Companions of the Prophet asked, “Are we not your brothers?” He replied: “You are my Companions, but my brothers are those who will believe in me, without having seen me.”
What a soothing statement from our beloved Nabi e Akram Salallahu alyhi wa sallam. We have the opportunity to be the BROTHERS of Nabi alayhis salaam. Even the Sahaaba Radiallahu Anhum expressed some ghayrat (possessive jealousy) at this statement as we see above.
Ulama explain that this “brothers” refers to those who believe without seiing him alayhis salaam means those who believe by following the Sunnat and the pristine Sharia of Habeebullah Alayhis salaam.
With a little bit of effort and starting to inculcate sunnats in our lives- one at a time, slowly with steadfastness, we can become the BROTHERS OF NABI ALAYHIS SALAAM.
We make Dua that Allah Rabbul Izzat make us from the brothers of His Beloved Alayhis Salaam and give us the courage and tawfeeq to work for this honor.
