While we are all so elated that the Masaajid have been re-opened, there are some stringent conditions that have been imposed on the Muslims. We thus give our advice to Imaams and Musallees.
1. SANITIZERS
*What should we do with regards to sanitising as we make Wudhu and leave home, as we find alcohol based sanitizers at the entrance to the Masaajid ?
If at Musjid and (mis)trustees are intent on forcing this “rule”, then Musallees should demand that it be non alcoholic as it simply does not behove a believer to enter the masjid with alcohol sprayed over oneself.
A simple kitchen solution of sunlight liquid will be sufficient for this sanitization as stupid as it is to apply such to someone who has just made Wudhu.
DO NOT USE THESE ALCOHOL SANITISERS AT ALL BUT EVEN MORE, WE STRESS ON DO NOT ENTER THE MUSJID USING IT.
2. MASKS
Again, while this is one of the stupid things to be forced on someone who is about to communicate with His Rabb in the best form of Ibaadah (Salaah l), we advise that Muslims carry a mask and not make an issue of this if it is forced on you.
IT IS HARAAM TO PERFORM SALAAT WITH A MASK COVERING YOUR MOUTH AND NOSE.
IF FORCED, PERFORM SALAAT AT HOME.
3. SOCIAL DISTANCING (DISUNITING UMMAT)
It is Haraam to perform Jama'ah Salaah in this manner.
We advise everyone to perform Salaah as ORDERED by Nabi Alayhis Salaam. Notwithstanding any explanation given by anyone, such a mock Salaah is not permissible and according to many Ulama, not even valid. Either perform Salaah in the Sunnah manner, shoulder to shoulder or perform Salaah individually.
Brothers may also make Salaah at home or in smaller groups in the Sunnah manner elsewhere in the area.
We advise Imaams to instruct brothers to make Salaat in Sunnat manner.
If this is not possible, the Imaam should instruct everyone to make Salaat individually.
4. OTHER
Apart from this there are other stupid and difficult measures put in place by (mis)trustees at many Musaajid.
If you find yourself facing these idiotic rules and undignified situations, try to change the situation by having these ignorant people removed and replaced by other trustees and/or lodge complaints verbally and in writing.
Until such “rules” are not removed or if it fails, perform Salaah at home, preferably in Jama'ah with family and others.
In conclusion under current circumstances DO NOT JOINT THE MOCK JAMAATS, PERFORM SALAAH INDIVIDUALLY.
If your dignity as a Muslim and Human is at stake, do not allow your dignity to be stripped. It is better to perform Salaah at home.
If in a Musjid and anyone harasses you for performing Salaah by yourself, then contact Qalamul Haq on 084 322 8445 and we will try to assist insha Allah.
But remember you will also be required to put in energy and time.
